Recently, we heard the news of the devastating attack in Paris that killed 129 innocent civilians.Looking back to what happened during the 9/11 attack is also the same. Believe it or not, it is pretty nostalgic thinking that these troubled times can unite multiple nations around the world. Here, we stand one by one, hand in hand for our brothers and sisters who died because of this chaos. 

Amid this violence is the scene of what we filipinos call as “bayanihan”. Though the videos do depict people panicking and some violent obscenity, there are scenes where you can see them helping each other. Some helped a kid hide to protect them. Some even helped in rescuing one another.

When the news got out, there are different reactions to this matter. 

Different landmarks around the world are in French colors for solidarity. It is something that can make them feel that the world is with them. Several countries paid their respect in several ways. The world unites for France. 

Thanks to social media, the message of sympathy could be relayed to those in need. The hashtags and the profile pictures filtered with the colors of the French flag. Netizens post their prayers and concern to those who are victimized during the violence. Though some of the older generation do consider this platform as a disadvantage in our generation let us not deny the fact that social media do connect us wherever we are in the parts of the world. 

Prayers were offered. Though differ in faith, yet same reason and that is for the world to be in peace. France needs us now. We have to show love and concern. 

In times of trials, what we can do really is to help one another. Though we differ in blood and culture, there is one thing that unites us and that is we are all people and we are all connected by triumphs and trials.

The song was released in 2012 in their self-titled album and this became one of Walk The Moon’s hit single. 

Why you should add this to your playlist? 

Because the song is just colorful. The first time i listened to it was one of the most imaginative experience I’ve ever had. It’s like a movie scene I am creating. Somewhat this could be a perfect movie soundtrack there is. 

This is also good for party. I imagine ending my day with this song.

The DJ dropped this single this year and it is featured the album So Fresh: The Hits of Autumn 2015. 

The music video is awesome. It has elements that speaks to the song. Good use of the camera and the edit is awesome. 

I love that the song is cool and nostalgic at the same time because sometimes electronic is not associated with good songwriting. This electronic beat has got everyone off their feet. It is poppy and the impressive techniques were notable in this single.

Lost

Girl was okay. She said to herself, yes I am okay. Nothing else. Walking in the room observing the facades instead of looking at people she don’t know. Then one girl came to her saying “How are you?” and even mentioned her name. She just stared blankly wondering how she knew her. She studied the person calling her yet she can’t find any familiarity. In order not to offend her, she just went with the conversation as if she knew her. 

Then the class starts. The male teacher said that it they were attending a Doctrines of the Gospel class. It is located at a room named Bethlehem. Yes, this is an institute class. A religion class for the young adult members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. All of them sat down and listened to the instructor. 

One question popped up as they went along the lesson: Who wants to live longer? Obviously, everyone raised their hand. Yet not so obvious, a girl did not. The girl who went in the class a while ago. The teacher noticed that she did not. So, she was asked why? 

“I think death has to be accepted no matter what.” she blurted out. 

The class was silent. Some were even confused by her answer. 

“Yes, I know we need to accept death but why you prefer not to live longer?” the teacher asked the question as a follow-up.

Every student’s attention in that class turned to her. This made her think. Now, these series of events were pictured in her mind:

She woke up seeing the light first. Beside her is the doctor who was holding a clipboard and about three nurses. They were all gazing at her. 

The first thing she asked is “Where am I?” 

“You are now in a safe place.” the nurse answered. 

Her forehead was surrounded in bandage that would secure the injury she got. 

She felt like everything was new. Everyone seems so different when she woke up. 

This is the next scenario that flashed. 

She was in an apartment looking at the pictures in her wall. She just scan and scan like she was looking to another pictures of another girl’s memories. Though she felt weird because some of the pictures included a girl who looks like her. 

Then this is the last scenario.

She was sitting in a chair in front of the doctor in her office. The doctor seems to be studying on an x-ray. One thing that he blurted was “I am so sorry.” The moment she heard the word, she frowned. 

Back to reality.

“Sister?” The teacher was calling her attention. “Anything?”

“Ah. Sorry.” she apologized. “I kinda said that I don’t want to live longer because I am not meant to live long anymore.” 

The class and the teacher turned to a curious mode. 

“That is because they found a tumor on my brain and said it was cancer. I had it for three years now. Then the last time I did my check-up, he said I stopped responding to treatments so yeah. That’s the story.”

The sympathy was felt in the room. No one talked as they were putting themselves on her shoe. 

“How long did the doctor said?”

”Four months is the least.” She answered as if it is nothing. 

The girl beside her cried. The teacher noticed and asked her. 

She answered. “This is the first time I saw her. It’s been three years. Now, she’ll be gone. She’s been my best friend for ten years now.”

The look on her face changed as the girl beside her reveal who she is. 

She whispered to her. 

“Sorry. I forgot.”

This One Direction song is such a music to the ear especially when summer is ending. This song has a nostalgic feel to it that I would love to start the dance craze in a party. It turns out to be one of the anthem that make everything feel youthful.
