Recently, we heard the news of the devastating attack in Paris that killed 129 innocent civilians.Looking back to what happened during the 9/11 attack is also the same. Believe it or not, it is pretty nostalgic thinking that these troubled times can unite multiple nations around the world. Here, we stand one by one, hand in hand for our brothers and sisters who died because of this chaos.
Amid this violence is the scene of what we filipinos call as “bayanihan”. Though the videos do depict people panicking and some violent obscenity, there are scenes where you can see them helping each other. Some helped a kid hide to protect them. Some even helped in rescuing one another.
When the news got out, there are different reactions to this matter.
Different landmarks around the world are in French colors for solidarity. It is something that can make them feel that the world is with them. Several countries paid their respect in several ways. The world unites for France.
Thanks to social media, the message of sympathy could be relayed to those in need. The hashtags and the profile pictures filtered with the colors of the French flag. Netizens post their prayers and concern to those who are victimized during the violence. Though some of the older generation do consider this platform as a disadvantage in our generation let us not deny the fact that social media do connect us wherever we are in the parts of the world.
Prayers were offered. Though differ in faith, yet same reason and that is for the world to be in peace. France needs us now. We have to show love and concern.
In times of trials, what we can do really is to help one another. Though we differ in blood and culture, there is one thing that unites us and that is we are all people and we are all connected by triumphs and trials.
